The College Facilities

College Library
(i) The College has computerised library which plays a key role in the academic life of the college. All the intellectual activities of the college centre round this library to inculcate the habit of reading. Students, teachers and genuinely interested readers get an easy access to make use of this library in the most efficient manner. The library has’ a good’ collection of text books, references, periodicals and jounals.There is Encyclopedia Britannica for ready reference of readers.
(ii) Books are catalogued as per method.
(iii) Books are issued to students for a scheduled time as per library rule. Failure to return the books within the fixed time imposes fine on the students as per the rules laid down.
(iv) Reading room facilities is there for the students. The students are allowed to take advantage of this by producing their identity cards to the librarian’ of the college. Pindrop silence must be maintained In the reading room failing which disciplinary action may be taken.
The college library provides book bank facility to help the poor pupils to borrow their books for the purpose of reading.

College Magazine
The College publishes its annual Magazine ‘The Jawahar Jyoti’ in every academic session. Articles, Stories, Poems etc. are invited both from the students, teachers and interested writers to contribute to this magazine. This magazine is considered as the mirror of the college and all possible care is taken by the magazine secretary & the Professor-in-charge concerned to maintain the standard of this magazine.

Accreditation by NAAC
(The assessment by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (N.A.A.C.) Banglore to our college)
As a part of rating the countrywide higher educational institutions the peers team of the National Assesment & Accreditation Council paid their august visit to our college on December 14th & 15th 2004 last and assessed our college. It’s a great opportunity on the part of our rural based college to get ourselves included in the all India network of higher institutions. Due to several constrains though the college was not awarded with a satisfactory grade, care is initiated for the all-round development and academic excellence of the college to get a better and satisfying grade by NAAC in future.

Some other important information
(A) The cultural Unit of the College
The college has its own cultural unit.
The purpose of the unit is to develop and expose the rich cultural heritage of the locality by councelling the students with various cultural information.
Students’ Union
The students’ union of the college is the most important democratic body for the students. The students of the college send their elected representatives from among the students in every academic session of the college. Election to the . students’ union is held during September of each academic session.
All bonaflde students of the college with more than 75 % of their attendance on the college roll are eligible to contest in the election.
The students’ union of the college conducts games, sports competition and cultural activities like song, drama, recitation, quiz, debating among the students during the period of college week. Besides that the Union Body also welcome the Freshers of the college in the beginning of every academic session.

Computer Education
Provision is open for the students to undergo computer education for the purpose of their course development. This education can be had under the guidance of the experts.

College Fraternity
The college fraternity includes Principal, Vice-Principal, teachers of the different department, college assistants, librarians, bearers of the college science laboratory and gardener and a few manual workers, members of the G.B. & members of the different cells. It is a team work of all the employees that make the college run smoothly.

Information and career guidance cell (I.C.G.C)
The I.C.G.C. cell of the college informs students time to time regarding alternative choice of career according to their qualification aptitude and capability. The cell has arranged seminars, group discussions on alternative career choices, where the director Indian Institutes of Entrepreneurship director of craft and training. Assam with other officers attended as resource person. Employment oriented trainings on bamboo product Horticulture and fruit preservation etc. organised through the cell within and outside the college for students. The cell now proposes to instal internet facility for the benefit of the students.

Rover and Ranger units
The Rover (boys) Ranger (girls) unit under Bharat Scout and Guide, Assam participated in different rallies and won prizes in different discipline. The Rover named as Konwar Gadapani Rove Criew and Ranger as Amrit Prava Ranger Team. Two Rover volunteers were selected by Bharat Scout and Guide Assam, to participate in Advance Training Course in Punchmari (M;P) from our college to represent Assam. The volunteers render free service in conference and in time of natural calamities. Moreover the volunteers adapted some villages as adapted village and organised counseling programme and training among the villagers on health, sanitation, plantation preservation of environment and raising standard of Living of the economically backward people. It is worth mentioning that one of our trained volunteer secures job in defence sector.

Student Aid fund
The fund was created to provide financial help to poor meritious students of economically backward communities. Every year two or three students benefited from the fund.

Internal Quality Assurance Cell
(I.Q.A.C.)
The objective of this cell is to maintain quality of the Higher Education in the College. Through this cell constant vigil is maintained on the activities, performances of the students right from the date of his/her admission to the college till the completion of the studies.

Grievances Redressal Cell (GRC)
The grievances Redressal Cell of the College comprises of Principal, Vice-Principal and any three senior Heads of Departments selected by the Principal to look into the matters of grievances and discipline related to students and staff of the college. The grievances & complaints are to be put in the complaint box. The Cell considers some activities of the students as major offences and they are as follows:
1. Irregularities in attending classes.
2. Restoring to violence within the college campus.
3. Damage to the college properties.
4. Disrupting the congenial academic atmosphere of the college.
5. The students are not allowed to circulate any notice and conduct any meeting without the prior approval of the principal of the college.

Examination Committee
The examination committee of the college is responsible to conduct both the internal examinations including the Unit Test, Terminal Examination and the Test Examination of the college and also the external examinations conducted by the Council and the University.

Election Committee
The Principal of the college reserves the right to select an Election Committee to conduct the election to the students’ Union as per supreme court’s directions.

College Canteen
The college has a canteen within its campus for the refreshment of both the staff and the students of the college. There is a college canteen Management committee to look after the proper maintenance of the quality of the foods provided by the canteen to the consumers. Utmost care is taken to supply the eatable to the students and the staff at the cheapest possible rates. The students are asked to maintain the cleanliness of the canteen as far as possible.
